project Overview

FNC Academy, a nonprofit school in Kampala, Uganda, serves nearly 400 students with holistic, accessible education. As a young and growing nonprofit, it needed both immediate funding opportunities and tools for long-term donor engagement.

Emma began working with FNC Academy as her first client through Pressed & Poured, making this partnership deeply meaningful and personal.

Project Narrative

Emma submitted three Letters of Intent for capital projects and curriculum training opportunities. Each was tailored to showcase the Academy’s mission, student impact, and vision for growth.

In addition, she began drafting an impact report designed to communicate the Academy’s story to funders and donors, blending outcomes data with compelling personal stories from the community.

challenges we’ve faced

Working with an international client brought unique challenges, particularly around funding access and communication. These hurdles required extra creativity and collaboration to navigate effectively.

  • 1

Limited access to U.S.-based funder relationships for international projects

  • 2

Bridging cultural differences in storytelling and reporting expectations

  • 3

Need for professionalized materials on a lean budget

  • 4

Balancing immediate funding needs with long-term sustainability
